Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Design systems meeting engineering standards, applicable codes, customer specifications, and within cost constraints.
Ability to work proficiently with design programs mainly Inventor
Review and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements.
Redesign standard systems, improving quality and productivity, while reducing costs.
Evaluate and select components.
Work with purchaser to initiate purchase orders.
Act as technical resource for product field support of customers, service personnel and field sales force, assisting in addressing and resolving problems.
Participate on cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design and quality problems, and ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods.
Suggest ideas for new products.
Stay current in new developments in the industry.
Travel to job sites to resolve problems.
Follow all housekeeping procedures.
Comply with all quality and safety regulations.
Produce procedure manuals.

Requires bachelor’s degree in engineering or seven to ten years of progressively responsible related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
Professional Engineers (PE) are preferred — not required.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively communicate with groups of managers, customers, and employees of the organization.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard office machines, to include a computer, telephone, fax, copier, etc., and the ability to operate a variety of test and development equipment.
