Vertical Grinder

This Vertical Grinder has been designed for the rapid reduction of blocks to a chunk size of roughly 2 inches or smaller and at a rate of 320 pounds per minute. With a minimal footprint, the incline conveyor quickly transports the product to the next stage of production. Catch pans keep the fines of the ground product contained.

For washdown operations to clean the machine, the conveyor separates from the grinder. The chute at the top of the conveyor is hinged for easy access without a need for lifting. An Interroll® drum motor is used to internalize the gearbox.

Manufactured of 304 Stainless Steel & Food Safe plastics, designed & assembled to WDA Standards — this machine is ready for direct washdown operations.

The NEMA 4X enclosure protects the UL Certified electrical backpanel from the harsh chemicals and environmental factors of the production process. The machine’s frame is designed with openings so that all major components can easily be cleaned and inspected. Thread exposure is minimized with most mounting locations having been designed so that the fasteners seal the hole. The guards are easily removable for cleaning & change-over and incorporate safety switches for each guard.

The Allen-Bradley PLC provides a small LCD interface to help diagnose faults and adjust parameter settings. To assist maintenance personnel, all external wiring (except the two motors) terminate on LED indicating terminal blocks which are mounted on angled stand-off DIN rail.
